Ah the age old question – “what do women look for in men?”

Well, I’m not here to go over all those things, but I do want to touch on some on the basic things that you have control over. Let’s start with appearance.

Now as I have mentioned in the past – even unattractive guys can score with hot girls. The way you carry yourself and your attitude in general plays a big enough role in the game of attraction that looks are not the only thing that matters.



However girls like guys that take care of themselves. They notice a lot of things that guys do not pay a lot of attention to. They look at what you are wearing, your shoes, your belt, your hairstyle etc. They may not make their judgment based only on that – in fact I know they don’t – but if it still enters their mind does it not make sense to make an effort in those categories?

It amazes me how many guys come to me asking me for advice on approaching girls or on different areas of seduction when they have not even covered some of the most basic areas. I hate to sound harsh, but many of the guys that come to me look sloppy, dirty and completely out of touch with fashion.

You do not need to be decked out in brand new Armani suits or the latest fashion trends. But you do need to have a sense of style. Know the basics. What is in or out? What colors work together? And yes, some of this stuff costs money. But you don’t have to spend a fortune. Check out ebay for some heavily discounted clothing. There are all the brand names you can buy (many are fake – but look identical) to help your look.

Also look for sales. They aren’t hard to find. Buy a great pair of shoes. Buy a wicked belt. And if you are not able to afford all this stuff, build your wardrobe gradually. In the meantime make sure you look coordinated.

Continual improvement. That is what I am hoping you strive for. And it extends to more areas than just what you wear.

Go to a fancy salon and ask what is in style when it comes to hair. They know what they are doing and can choose something to go with your hair texture and type that will energize your look.

I always advocate going to the gym. I realize not everyone is a fan of this idea. Many people are too busy. Many people don’t have the facilities. Most people are just too lazy.



But exercise makes a HUGE difference. It motivates you like you wouldn’t believe and gives you a brand new confidence in yourself. This can do wonders with the ladies. Not to mention losing a few pounds and developing a fit physique never hurts either.

All of these things are easy to do. I always look at ways of improving little things about my appearance. My bathroom is full of skin and hair products. My closet is full of clothes. Some guys think that makes them less of a man. I see that as just an excuse. If it helps you get more GIRLS, how are you less of a man?

The idea of continual improvement extends to much more than your appearance. I will touch on that in another article. For now I will leave you with a list of small things you can do to make sure you are looking your best. The best colognes for seduction - dating tips for men

If you are anything like me, you have over a dozen cologne bottles you have collected over the years in your bathroom. Some have been gifts, others have been my own purchase. I am a sucker when it comes to having the buy the “latest and greatest” so this has definitely added to my collection as well.

One day while I was deciding which one to spray on, I asked myself “what is the best cologne”. Obviously we wear a fragrance in the hopes that it attracts the opposite sex. With this in mind I thought it would be a good idea to have a survey to see which ones I owned girls found the most appealing.

I had a perfect opportunity since my friend was hosting a large BBQ/party on the weekend and I knew there would be a minimum of 25 ladies attending. I grabbed 10 of my bottles and threw them in a knapsack. Operation “what is the best cologne” was underway!

I knew my buddy had the same problem as me – his bathroom cupboards were overflowing with cologne as well. I went to his place early and chose 5 of his in order to have a total of 15 different fragrances.

Now I am no expert at designing surveys, but I did figure out that asking each girl to smell 15 different colognes would not only be a chore but would also make them take it less seriously. I also might burn a few nostrils that way. So this is what I did:

I made three groups of five colognes each. At the party, I assembled three groups with nine girls in each. Each group would “test” their five colognes and rate them from 1-10. I would then take the five highest scoring bottles and have all 27 girls smell and rate them again.

So let’s cut right to the chase and answer what is the best cologne! Here are the winners.



1) Lacoste Red – The lowest of all 27 scores was a 7. That is impressive. All the girls seemed to react favorably and many said it was “fresh” and “invigorating” One girl said she just wanted to smell it all night long (which I must say sounds mighty promising!)


2) CK Euphoria – This one came in a close second. More than one girl said it “smelled like man”. I wasn’t exactly sure what she meant as I thought it was full of citrus and maybe a little fruity, but apparently that’s a good thing. It is subtle but effective.


3) Guess Man – This one came as a shock since it is pretty old. The word “sexy” came up over and over. Not everyone liked it, but many of them liked it a lot. It seemed to send shivers up some girls spine. Not bad for liquid in a bottle.

Fortunately the first two were mine. Sadly, although I owned it in the past, it looks like my cupboards will be getting even more cluttered as I will have to purchase some of the Guess Man.

Now don’t get me wrong. There are hundreds of colognes and this is just a handful of options. But hopefully it gives you some idea of what works and what girls like. I know it has changed which ones I reach for in the morning.
